Houston Flooring Warehouse is offering a $10,000.00 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of over $24,000 in flooring materials using a stolen credit card.
The flooring bandits that must be brought to justice used the COVID-19 crisis as cover for their scheme by abusing Houston Flooring Warehouse's COVID-19 emergency policies to steal over 10,000 square feet of flooring materials. The suspect who made the purchase provided a forged Texas driver’s license and used a stolen American Express card to make two purchases totaling over $24,000.00.
The original order was placed on April 30, 2020 at 3:49PM under the name of "Paul Young". He provided a Texas driver’s license that was later determined to be a forgery. He purchased 5,019 square feet of Universal SPC Casino collection Mirage and sent Jose Lopez TX DL#33907130 to pick up 55 boxes from Houston Flooring Warehouse on May 1st at 9:42 AM. Lopez then went to Universal Flooring's distribution center to pick up the additional 155 boxes. Lopez was driving a rented U-Haul truck with an Arizona license AD91039. This truck was later returned to Katy U-Haul center 20435 Katy Fwy. in Katy, Texas on May 4, 2020. Houston Flooring Warehouse was notified that the transaction was fraudulent on Monday May 4, 2020 at 6:34 AM. A police report was filed by Houston Flooring Warehouse on May 5, 2020. Katy U-Haul is cooperating with the police investigation.
A second order was placed the same individual, "Paul Young" TX DL#85276288, at 9:26 am on May 2, 2020. The second order was also picked up by Jose Lopez, who signed for the pickup. Lopez was driving a different U-Haul truck, license plate AHT6346.
